They are DNA endonucleases that cut target DNA mediated by guide RNA, such as cas9, cpf1, c2c1, etc. cas9 and cpf1 have been successfully developed as important gene editing tools, which can be used as clever tools to carry out gene function research and find suitable drug action targets. Cas13a is an effector protein of type VI CRISPR CAS system, which has RNA mediated RNA digestion activity. It is the only protein that can degrade RNA found in the second largest class of CRISPR CAS system at present. Cas9, cpf1 and c2c1 are RNA mediated DNA endonucleases, which are of great value for developing and studying RNA tools and expanding the application of CRISPR system in gene editing.
